Management of Sustainable Development has an excellent opportunity to
complete my education. In my case, I looked for a different
specialization to a traditional career as ADE, which is the area I come
from, which together with my concerns in the field of sustainable
development made it an easy decision to take the course out. Once
my time it ended I can ensure that the experience has fulfilled my
expectations both personally and training, giving me an overview of the
importance of sustainability in any activity and management. On the one
hand stands the multidisciplinary nature of students and teachers with
whom I shared the course, which has given me points of view very
interesting and enlightening. | | Isabel del Canto Sevillano - Degree in Marine Science - Spain (VI MMSD 2013-14) | My experience
at the Masters in Sustainable Development Management has been very
positive and very helpful in completing my training in Marine Science at
the end of the race I decided to do a masters, and the choice was not
difficult because the environment is a topic that interests me and that
is very important to also consider that specialize in this field can
open many doors in the working world. A part of my interest in the
topic, I liked the idea of it not being a purely theoretical master. Now
once done, I know I made the right decision, not only for the contents
also by teachers both academia and business, you have to opportunity to
contact. In addition, the atmosphere in classes is very good and being a
multidisciplinary master gives you the opportunity to meet other views. | | Elisia Silva de Cruz - Degree in Sociology - Cabo Verde (V MMSD 2012-13) | The fascination with environmental issues and the need to expand my professional capabilities, made the choice of MGDS was a logical step. In the master, it is noteworthy not only the quality of teaching and how it is structured, but also coordination. This has been carried out by a team that has always demonstrated competency and professionalism in the conduct of the same, providing the necessary assistance and inspiring safety. The deal has been excellent.The Master allowed me to expand my knowledge, especially on issues such as valuation, protection and environmental assessment, and innovative solutions in tackling environmental problems. In addition, many of the skills acquired are applied through the development of professional practices in reputation and prestige companies that collaborate with the master. I am very satisfied with the master, has exceeded my expectations. I want to emphasize that my experience has been great Vigo. | | Marta Cristos Amarelo - Engineer - Spain (V MMSD 2012-13) - Grant-recipient Iberdrola Foundation | My experience with the realization of the MMSD has been more than positive. First, the courses taught have of great value as it manages to balance all formations, both technical and social, with new insights into the business of sustainability management, strategic for any professional development today. In addition, multidisciplinary environment of the teachers and my colleagues has allowed us to see and learn different business and state administration worldviews under economic, social and environmental perspectives, fundamental to get a balanced and consistent management with all stakeholders. Highlight also, the internship that the master gets to complete the formation of all students in prestigious companies. I have done it in Iberdrola I.N.C., and my experience could not be better. I consider the MMSD the perfect specialization for my academic life and I keep recommending it to anyone looking for a differentiation towards a successful career. | | Iria García Lorenzo - Degree in Business - Spain (V MMSD 2012-13) | This year has been an unforgettable experience. I come from the social ciencies, Management and Advertising, a mixture extrange enough to include a Master of Sustainable Development, however the way I finally chose. Besides studying, the MXDS has given me the opportunity to work in social networking, so I've learned in both facets. The overview of what it is, how it works and how people, companies and societies relate to the environment is the biggest knowledge I have gained, and without it I could not understand human development any more. I thought a lot about issues I had never care about and discovered new points of view that complement my experience. Many of these points of view come from my partners, who at the end are curious mixtures like me, my environmental economists, engineers of the nature and entrepreneurs biologists. To everyone of them, thank you for sharing this year and make me improve | | Javier Veiga Rodeiro - Degree in Biology - Spain (V MMSD 2012-13) | The professional field in which I have developed in recent years changed from biotechnology to environmental management. With a strong background in the first field found myself gaining experience in the second, which lacked a good theoretical basis. The reason that led me to seek a master to solve this problem. The Master in Sustainable Development Management broadly met the objectives pursued. I finished the master reaching an excellent foundation in assessment and management of the environment, to which I added many valuable knowledge in economics and legislation on renewable energy and so promising a field such as corporate social responsibility. For all the above my assessment of my time in the MGGS is excellent | | Iván Orosa Rodríguez - Degree in Marine Science - Spain (IV MMSD 2011-2012) | The choice of the MMSD was easy because once the race was looking for something that would allow me to specialize in a particular area without having to spend a year purely theoretical load. I always liked the Environment branch and since I hit this master has a varied teaching, with very different perspectives: academics, in business, public administration, auditors ... This, reinforced by a multidisciplinary students , results in a great time filled cocktail, especially learning and future opportunities. I have to give special thanks to master the effort in finding companies to conduct the experiments, which in my case were in PSA Peugeot Citroën Vigo. Thanks to this, I found a scholarship FEUGA enjoy 6 months (which later became 12), possibly the most important company in Galicia in a department of Environment, the truth is that you can not ask for more. In practice always treated me like one more and I could apply everything learned during the race and master. I recommend everyone who doubts what master study, that if you want a different master, professionalizing, rich, interesting and at the same time full of experiences and good times to be decanted by the MGDS | | María Eloisa Álvarez - Degree in Economics Law - España (IV MMSD 2011-2012), Grant-recipient Iberdrola Foundation | I think the Master in Management of Sustainable Development is a great opportunity for anyone with an interest in a prosperous career. Sustainability is becoming a path followed by many companies, not only nationally but internationally a very amplio.Además from my point of view, the content provided in this Master provides additional training that allows specialize regardless of studies have made. It is this point that I would highlight. In my opinion the ability to share different points of view, due to the multidisciplinarity that this Master offers is as enriquecedor.Por other hand I think because of the situation that we are now in this country, the carrying out practices companies such as PSA Peugeot Citroën, or as in my case, in Iberdrola are a very important opportunity. Growing up in a multicultural family (born in Argentina and raised in Mexico City) has always made me want to venture to increasingly demanding challenges and if possible always in international environments.Previous experiences in my life, as having studied my Bachelor of Wales-UK, and have gone on to do one year internship in Toulouse, France working for the department of supply chain and quality of aeronautical company Airbus, have been some challenges and experiences to which I have faced in recent times and that helped me develop professionally and as a human.Choosing the MXDS was the conclusion of several years in my academic profile within the business economic area. The subjects taught during the course have been addressed in a coherent and highly qualified people and recognized. While not a course that jumps for its large number of years, if I can say that stands out very adequately address an issue that is very attractive, current and relevant. Moreover, in closing, I was invited to collaborate on a 3-month practice in an important environmental consulting and innovation in Galicia (A Coruña), called Valora, which have supplemented many of the topics covered during my studies at the Masters and where fortunately, required to expand my work with them. The main reasons why I chose the Master in Management of Sustainable Development of the University of Vigo are the training period in firms, which allowed me to start my professional career in the area in which I really want to work, and its interdisciplinary character: the fact of sharing lectures with people from different countries, different parts of Spain and, mostly, of different education, has enriched me both personally and professionally. Moreover you have training in a firm for three months, which is quite important as you enter the labor market. As for the theoretical load of the Master, it is broad and varied. With the guidance of every teacher, I acquired a broader vision of sustainable development, not only from an academic standpoint but also from professional one. The on-the-job training, allowed me to get in touch with a field that that was totally unrelated to my previous academic training. This trend makes it increasingly important to optimize the ratio of industry not only in terms of economic aspects relevant to business but also in terms of all aspects of society and environment. An Engineer takes a key role in this new industrial revolution. This degree gives a broader view of the current situation, new trends and mechanisms developed to deal with it. The training has a balance between academia and industry that allows students to develop each concept in a real context where stakeholder approaches are analyzed within the spirit of the master: sustainable development. | | Guillermo Alberto Piovano - Law graduate - Argentina (I MMSD, 2008-2009) | The MMSD has been a valuable experience for me both professionally and personally. Its large and varied content immerses you in the best of the world of sustainable development and implementation, with specialized lecturers and very good subject matter. With its strong theoretical and practical training, I think I acquired the basic tools and many sources for ongoing consultations to begin to build my career. In addition, the multidisciplinary profiles of those who attended the first edition helped generate intense debate in class that went far beyond the development and incorporation of new concepts. Dealing with people from diverse academic backgrounds day to day helped us broaden our minds and views. At the same time, we formed a very fun group that even dared to get a taste of night-life in Vigo after the exams. For their part, the faculty and management of the master were very flexible with the personal situations of each student. In my case, as a Latin American, I required help to register and obtain a student visa in Spain. The faculty and management helped me every step of the way. In this sense, Vigo, the University and its people have warmly embraced me. It was a really memorable year. You have to do many things especially if, like me, you are working. You have to juggle schedules and sacrifice free time.
